Parent Cafés Make Resources Available to Head Start Families

Our Parent Cafés at our Alta Head Start offers family members free access to computers, printers, internet services and paper supplies. Parents can also stop by and explore educational resources with their children on the computers. It’s a great place to study, complete online job applications, apply online for needed benefits or explore a topic of interest. If parents need help using a computer, their Family Advocate is available to assist upon request.

Tovia, a parent at our Westchester site, uses the Parent Café there, as it is a convenient place to access the internet and a printer while her daughter is at school. She is able to check her email and print important papers. Bernadette, a parent at our Renaissance site, uses the Parent Café  to complete her school  assignments during her son’s school day. It gives her a quiet place to focus on her studies, as she pursues her degree in Nursing, while he is busy learning in his classroom.

Our Parent Cafés services are offered at all our sites. Parent Cafés at our McCartney, Renaissance and Westchester sites are also available to families during summer months. For more information on our Parent Cafés, call Shirley Ferguson at (330) 736-0071.
